Enes Kanter Rips ‘Golden Child’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, Calls Him ‘Childish’

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN - DECEMBER 27: Giannis Antetokounmpo #34 of the Milwaukee Bucks and Enes Kanter #00 of the New York Knicks exchange words during the second half of a game at Fiserv Forum on December 27, 2018 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Enes Kanter #00 was ejected from the game. New York Knicks center Enes Kanter isn’t a fan of Giannis Antetokounmpo after their altercation during Thursday’s 112-96 win by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Per Marc Berman of the New York Post, Kanter referred to the Bucks superstar as “childish” when discussing the apparent hypocrisy in Antetokounmpo’s actions and words:

“You cannot say to the media, ‘I’m going to punch somebody in the whatever.’ If you’re the best player in the world or the worst player in the world, you cannot be talking about my teammate like that. It’s very childish of him. He’s an MVP candidate. He’s a cool dude and carrying that franchise, but you can’t be talking about my teammates like that.

“He’s the golden boy. He’s the golden child. I’m not trying to fight against superstars and All-Stars. It just happens. If it was something else, I would’ve gone after somebody else. Obviously he’s the golden child and they gave me two technicals. OK. Whatever? I’m going to leave the management to take care of all that stuff.”

The incident occurred during the fourth quarter when Kanter knocked Antetokounmpo to the floor on a drive to the basket. Antetokounmpo got up, leading to an argument before they were broken apart.

Kanter was ejected after receiving two technical fouls. Antetokounmpo also received a technical foul, but he remained in the game.

Per Steve Popper of Newsday, Kanter needed stitches to close a cut above his left eye after taking an elbow from Thon Maker on the possession prior to his argument with Antetokounmpo.

Milwaukee’s “golden child” put on a clinic against Kanter in the win. The MVP candidate finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists to help the Bucks move into the top spot in the Eastern Conference at 24-10.

Kanter finished with just eight points and five rebounds before getting ejected. The Knicks dropped to 9-27 after the loss.

DeSean Jackson Rumors: WR ‘Would Really Like’ Eagles Reunion in 2019

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' DeSean Jackson during the first half of an NFL football game against the New York Giants, Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, in East Rutherford, N.J. (AP Photo/Julio Cortez)

Julio Cortez/Associated Press

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver DeSean Jackson could potentially be headed toward a reunion with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019.

According to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the veteran “would really like to return and play for the Eagles next season.”

Jackson also posted a picture of himself wearing an Allen Iverson jersey on Instagram Thursday, seemingly reminding people of his time in Philly where he spent the first six years of his career.

This report comes on the heels of Josina Anderson of ESPN reporting Thursday that the receiver wants to leave the Buccaneers. He reportedly had a “verbal exchange” with head coach Dirk Koetter last month when he didn’t practice after suffering a hand injury.

Jackson didn’t play the next three weeks until returning to the field for Week 16.

The friction in Tampa Bay apparently began during his first year with the team after signing as a free agent in 2017.

“Interviews with coaches and players confirm that Jackson was fined extensively for being late to meetings and sometimes fell asleep in them. He rarely took notes,” Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported. “It got worse in the final months. Jackson refused to play catch with one of his coaches one day before practice and was told to sit out.”

The 32-year-old has no money guaranteed to him after this season, which could lead to a trade or release.

Despite his problems, Jackson is still a useful player on the field. He enters Week 17 leading the NFL with 18.9 yards per catch this season, a stat he has led three other times in his career. He has 774 total receiving yards and four touchdowns so far in 2018.

The Eagles could use an experienced deep threat for an offense that took a step back this season and had a lot of inconsistency in the passing attack outside of tight end Zach Ertz.

‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ won’t work on Apple TV, users are furious

If it doesn't work, try throwing tea on it.
If it doesn’t work, try throwing tea on it.

Image: netflix/black mirror

2016%2f06%2f30%2ff1%2f201507140cheadshot 20.b2214.78bb0By Chris Taylor

It may be a groundbreaking high-tech piece of TV entertainment, but the interactive Black Mirror movie Bandersnatch is off limits if you happen to be using the highest-rated high-tech TV setup.

That would be the Apple TV, the 4K model of which we recently rated not only the most essential set-top box but also the most ahead-of-the-pack product Apple currently makes. (Many users agreed.)

SEE ALSO: ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ marks the dawn of a new era in television

Bandersnatch is also unavailable on Google’s Chromecast and Amazon’s Fire Stick. Try to watch it on these platforms and what you’ll get instead of the two-plus hour storyline is a 2-minute supercut of Black Mirror characters from other episodes saying “sorry.” And if you thought you could stream it from other devices to these set-top boxes: Sorry, that won’t work either.

But you’re not necessarily banished to watching/playing it on your laptop, tablet, or phone. Bandersnatch will work if you have a Roku, a relatively new smart TV, or a games console with Netflix. The company says it’s confident most users will be able to see the story somehow, and lists Apple TV and Chromecast alongside “some legacy [ie. super old] devices” on which it will not work. Ouch.

Netflix is playing a little coy as to the exact reason why its interactive story technology works on Roku (which, if anything, is more of a legacy device than the more popular Apple TV and Chromecast) but not its rivals. The company told Mashable the problem had something to do with “support”, but has not yet explained further. (We’ll update you if they do.)

Other interactive services, such as HBO’s Mosaic app, work fine on Apple TV. Perhaps Netflix hasn’t got around to updating its Apple TV and Chromecast apps to support Twine, the open-source programming language in which Bandersnatch was written.

Maybe it only had the resources to support a limited number of platforms and chose which ones it would service first almost at random — or maybe CEO Reed Hastings has some behind-the-scenes beef with Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos and the Google guys.

At least Netflix was able to confirm that the problem had nothing to do with the Apple TV remote, which incorporates a trackpad rather than regular left or right buttons (you play Bandersnatch by choosing between options on the left and right of the screen). After all, you also use a trackpad on your laptop, and the game works fine there.

Regardless of the reason, Apple TV and Chromecast users took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

Oh. “Bandersnatch” won’t even play on AppleTV? Never you mind, then.

— Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint) December 28, 2018

When you wanna watch Bandersnatch but you’re using chromecast to stream 🙃

— Crystal Moss 💎 (@crystalnmoss) December 28, 2018

So the interactive component of Bandersnatch is inoperable via AppleTV, the mechanism many (most?) people would use to watch. Lovely.

— John Oursler (@JMOursler) December 28, 2018

Got both children in bed and asleep before 8pm. Got chilled Prosecco. Got chocolate. Bloody #Bandersnatch won’t play on Chromecast or on my Huawei phone. Ok I’m putting my pyjamas on and going to bed. Wake me when it’s available to play on my devices.

Elon Musk’s Twitter in 2018: Lawsuits, dank memes, and ‘funding secured’

Musk has tweets for everything.
Musk has tweets for everything.

Image: mashable composite: ROBYN BECK/AFP/Getty Images / twitter

2016%2f10%2f18%2f6f%2f2016101865slbw.6b8ca.6b5d9By Sasha Lekach

What better way to really understand Elon Musk’s year as Tesla CEO than to look back at his Twitter. It’s been a bumpy and very busy year for the electric car executive. He went from the depths of despair to turning a profit for Tesla for the first time — with a few lawsuits and scathing news reports thrown in for good measure. He even took a few puffs of marijuana on a podcast.

His most famous tweet of 2018?

Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) August 7, 2018

That led to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit and possible criminal investigation. In his settlement (which cost him $20 million and Tesla another $20 million), he was removed as chairman of the board and his tweeting is now under close watch. That didn’t stop him from taunting the SEC. He remains CEO of Tesla.

Just want to that the Shortseller Enrichment Commission is doing incredible work. And the name change is so on point!

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 4, 2018

Before the SEC drama in August, he divulged he was in “production hell” as he struggled to build 5,000 Model 3 cars a week. We learned Musk was sleeping at the office.

About a year ago, I asked Doug to manage both engineering & production. He agreed that Tesla needed eng & prod better aligned, so we don’t design cars that are crazy hard to build. Right now, tho, better to divide & conquer, so I’m back to sleeping at factory. Car biz is hell …

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 2, 2018

As Musk himself said in a Halloween interview with Recode’s Kara Swisher, “It’s fair to say I would probably not have tweeted some of the things I tweeted, that was probably unwise.”

SEE ALSO: Elon Musk was once tech’s angel. Now he’s an overplayed meme.

Back in May, he went on a rant about creating a truth-rating website called Pravda.

Going to create a site where the public can rate the core truth of any article & track the credibility score over time of each journalist, editor & publication. Thinking of calling it Pravda …

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 23, 2018

Later, he broke down in a New York Times article, calling this year the “most difficult and painful year of my career.” BUT HE DID NOT CRY.

For the record, my voice cracked once during the NY Times article. That’s it. There were no tears.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) August 28, 2018

And he’s still dealing with the repercussions of an insulting (since deleted) tweet calling a British cave diver a “pedo guy.” The diver is suing for defamation. Musk argued this week that since it happened on Twitter it’s protected speech.

Just returned from Cave 3. Mini-sub is ready if needed. It is made of rocket parts & named Wild Boar after kids’ soccer team. Leaving here in case it may be useful in the future. Thailand is so beautiful. pic.twitter.com/EHNh8ydaTT

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 9, 2018

Musk also used Twitter to make countless product announcements, from off-menu paint colors to updated Autopilot software. He tweeted about a farting unicorn and gave his cars the ability to fart. He also gave clues about major releases, like the elusive Model Y.

But consider it real. We could unveil Model Y anytime from late this year to mid next year, so March 15 is about right.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 24, 2018

Tesla’s stock price is a good indicator of when Musk’s Twitter behavior is getting too much for shareholders to handle. The dips match low points in his tweets, IRL behavior, and Model 3 production numbers.

A year of Tesla.

A year of Tesla.

Image: google finance

Musk’s personal life got even weirder this year. In February he broke up with actress Amber Heard and then started dating the singer Grimes.

Grimes and Elon Musk got the internet worked up over a joint appearance at the Met Gala.

Grimes and Elon Musk got the internet worked up over a joint appearance at the Met Gala.

Image: Carl Timpone/BFA/REX/Shutterstock

This was the year Musk recognized his own Twitter influence and started tweeting some bizarre posts and what he considers funny jokes.

By the way, Musk is 47 years old.

Elon Musk also used Twitter to announce a new name for his Boring Company’s flamethrowers.

Almost forgot! Due to recent regulatory/customs rules enacted to inhibit transport of anything called a Flamethrower, we have renamed our product: “Not a Flamethrower”.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 9, 2018

This was just 365 days. What a year.

A ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ game is available to play online now

If Black Mirror: Bandersnatch wasn’t unsettling or meta enough for you, the show’s team snuck in another layer of gameplay: an actual Tuckersoft Games website. You can peruse the company’s history (which you’ll be familiar with if you watched Bandersnatch) and explore its game titles – all of which reference other Black Mirror episodes.

SEE ALSO: ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ is here and Twitter is flipping its shit

Perhaps the sneakiest goody on the site is that you can actually play Nohzdyve, the game Colin (Will Poulter) is working on. But there’s a significant catch.

The .tap file containing the game can only be played by downloading a ZS Spectrum Emulator – a program that mimics the OS of a personal computer from the 1980s’ Bandersnatch era. Fuse, Qaop, or Speccy are some potential emulators, but they only work on certain computers or operating systems (one of the only Mac-compatible downloads I found wouldn’t open because it was from an unidentified developer).

The rest of the Tuckersoft website is worth exploring for its fun nods to Black Mirror lore. There’s an ad from founder Mohan Tucker (Asim Choudhry) – probably the ad young Stefan responded to, which led him into this whole Bandersnatch mess.

The Bandersnatch page explains the game as simply as it can, with a few images we saw on Stefan’s computer and a creepy cartoon of Pax, the Thief of Destiny.

Other than Bandersnatch and Nohzdyve, the only other game featured in the sidebar is Metl Hedd, a reference to the Black Mirror episode “Metalhead.” Like Bandersnatch and a few others, this page contains a hyperlinked warning reading, “The people, places and actions depicted in this game are based on true events.”

The text links out to the “Metalhead” Netflix page.

At the bottom, you’ll see another Easter egg: A link to rateme.social, an app that lets you rate your friends or learn your own rating a la “Nosedive.” If you plug in a handle, you can get an arbitrary (we hope) rating, and hopefully not stress too much about it.

The remaining games’ descriptions can only be accessed through the History tab, where you’ll find Roachbusters (“Men Against Fire”), Terror on Rannoch B (“Men Against Fire”/”White Bear”/”U.S.S. Callister”), Rolling Road (“Fifteen Million Credits”), Pig in a Poke (“The National Anthem”), Valdack’s Revenge (“U.S.S. Callister”), and White Bear (“White Bear”).

And on the Roachbusters page, another chilling ad: Coach, the dating app simulation found in “Hang the D.J.” We’ve tried that one.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is now streaming on Netflix.

Kid takes a bite of a pickle and self-destructs

2016%2f09%2f16%2fe5%2fhttpsd2mhye01h4nj2n.cloudfront.netmediazgkymde1lzew.e9fc9By Heather Dockray

Hot pickles should be eaten cautiously, with plenty of preparation in the event of extreme sourness and heat.

Not every little kid knows that. Twitter user @iamlaurans recently fed a hot pickle to her nephew who was begging to have a taste, only to have him collapse in agony.

Be careful what kind of pickle you wish for, folks.
