It’s a question that keeps popping up for Jack Dorsey.

In an interview with Joe Rogan over the weekend, the Twitter CEO floated how editable tweets, an oft-requested feature, would work on the platform.

SEE ALSO: Groundhog Day prediction is for an early spring but Twitter’s not buying it this year

“You could build it as such so maybe we introduce a 5-second to 30-second delay in the sending,” Dorsey told the program.

“And within that window, you can edit. The issue with going longer than that is it takes that real-time nature of the conversational flow out of it.”

Dorsey also revealed that Twitter was looking into making sure users could see the original tweet.

While the ability to edit tweets is a steadily requested feature, it’s understood that the platform has become the social media of record, and so editing can’t just be thrown in willy-nilly.

For that reason, Dorsey is thinking about making editability dependent on the context.

“If you’re in the context of an NBA game, you want to be fast and you just want to be in the moment. You want to be raw,” he said.

“But if you’re in the context of considering what the president just did, or making a particular statement, then you probably need some more time, and we can be dynamic there.”

Twitter’s functionality is based on SMS, and Dorsey explained it’s the reason why the company didn’t incorporate an edit function into the platform.

“Once you send a text, you can’t take it back. So when you send a tweet it goes to the world instantaneously. You can’t take it back,” he said.

But of course, it didn’t stop Twitter from increasing the character limits on its tweets — like SMS, tweets were limited to 140 characters, then were doubled to 280 in late 2017.

So with Rogan, Kim Kardashian, heck, the whole Twittersphere asking the question, surely it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be able to edit a tweet. Surely.

The best thing about the halftime show was everyone making fun of Maroon 5

Fans reach into the void at Super Bowl 2019.

There is no band more consistently, doggedly embarrassing in America than Maroon 5.

Their halftime performance at Super Bowl LIII was no exception. Viewers were subjected to Adam Levine’s exposed, erect nipples and guitar solos fit for a middle school battle of the bands.

Nobody captured this cultural collapse better than Twitter.

SEE ALSO: Super Bowl: How to navigate the controversy

I’m sorry, but you just can’t have Adam Levine hopping to a hip-hop beat like he’s at a ska show — then crooning with an *actually* talented gospel choir  — and not expect people to mock it. It’s part of our cultural algorithm.

Travis Scott provided a moment’s respite with his nod to SpongeBob SquarePants, but not even Big Boi could save the show for Adam Levine, who is essentially a sentient tapioca pudding.

Theory: They made this halftime this bad in order for the game to look good by comparison.

Erdogan slams US ‘silence’ over Khashoggi, demands Saudi answers

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has lashed out at the United States for not taking a tougher position against Saudi Arabia over the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, as he demanded answers from the kingdom over the journalist’s killing.

“I cannot understand America’s silence when such a horrific attack took place, and even after members of the CIA listened to the recordings we provided,” Erdogan said in an interview aired by state broadcaster TRT on Sunday.

“We want everything to be clarified because there is an atrocity, there is a murder,” he added, calling the the killing “not an ordinary one.”

Erdogan has long insisted that the order to kill Khashoggi at the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul four months ago came from the highest levels of the Saudi government.

In the interview, Erdogan said the murder was planned by 22 people, 15 of whom arrived in Istanbul on two planes and visited the consulate on the day of the killing.

“What they [Saudi Arabia] say is ’22 people are arrested now’. Despite this, we have some information. They might have taken some of them out. They might be victims of traffic accidents. Because the system there is working very weird,” he said.

Last month, a trial opened in Riyadh of 11 defendants over the killing, including five people facing the death penalty. Several rights groups and international observers, however, have said it lacks credibility.

UN probe

Erdogan’s latest remarks came as Agnes Callamard, the UN’s special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, on Sunday concluded a week-long trip to Turkey to gather information on the events surrounding Khashoggi’s murder four months ago.

Callamard is understood to have heard the grisly audio recordings of the Saudi journalist’s last moments, which are in Turkey’s possession and were previously shared with CIA Director Gina Haspel, as well as Germany, France and Britain.

INSIDE STORY: What can investigation into Khashoggi’s murder achieve? (24:41)

Khashoggi, a Washington Post contributor and critic of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was murdered on October 2 soon after he entered the Istanbul-based consulate to collect documents for his planned wedding to a Turkish woman.

US intelligence agencies have reportedly concluded that Prince Mohammed, also known as MBS, ordered the assassination of Khashoggi, whose body is yet to be found.

In December, the US Senate passed a bill that directly pinned the blame for the murder on the crown prince and ordered the US military to cease all assistance to the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

US President Donald Trump, however, has repeatedly insisted there is no definitive evidence connecting MBS with the crime.

After giving contradictory statements about Khashoggi’s whereabouts, Saudi Arabia admitted he was killed inside its consulate and his body was dismembered.

The kingdom maintains Prince Mohammed – Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler – had no knowledge of the killing, calling it the result of a “rogue operation” carried out without his knowledge.

Super Bowl LII isn’t even over and we already have an MVP.

Ahead of the kickoff on Sunday night, Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch stole the show during the presentation of the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

As the camera panned across the players gathered on the field for the presentation, it caught Lynch — decked out in a branded sweatsuit from his apparel line — sitting down, while everyone else around him was standing

He was also seen trying to avoid the camera during a speech by another player, J.J. Watt, by hiding behind Watt’s head.

The one-two punch from the enigmatic star — who once answered every question at a pre-Super Bowl media event by saying, “I’m here so I won’t get fined” — was a big hit with viewers.

Marshawn Lynch, in backpack and no suit, is now and forever my idol.

Whether he’s actually playing in the Super Bowl or just hanging out, it’s nice to know that Marshawn Lynch is always ready to go into beast mode to keep us on our toes.

The Avengers (Or What’s Left Of Them) Prepare For Battle In New Endgame Promo

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios dropped 30 seconds of all-new footage from Avengers: Endgame on Sunday night (February 3) during the 2019 Super Bowl, and it’s every bit as dramatic — and frustratingly vague — as you’d expect.

The promo gives us a glimpse into the incredibly bleak world of Endgame following the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Thanos wiped out half of “all living creatures” throughout the universe with the snap of his fingers. It looks like those who survived are trying to pick up the pieces. There’s a shot of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) attending some sort of group therapy for survivors; a sign on the wall reads, “Where do we go, now that they’re gone?”

But Cap and his Avengers aren’t giving up without a fight. “Some people move on, but not us,” Captain America says, while images of the Avengers — or what’s left of them, minus a curiously absent Tony Stark — preparing to face the uncertain battle ahead flash on-screen. “Not us.”

It’s no surprise that Cap — shield at the ready — is leading the charge, joined by Black Widow (seen practicing her shooting range), War Machine, Ant-Man, Rocket Raccoon, Thor, Bruce Banner, and Hawkeye (who’s looking a little worse for wear these days). Not among the team on the ground? Iron Man. Rather, he’s seen with Nebula in what we’d presume to be space, which makes sense considering that the first look at Avengers: Endgame found Tony Stark adrift in the cosmos and running out of oxygen. As for how he ends up with Nebula, well, we’ll have to wait and see.

Overall, it’s a very intense mood. But let’s not forget that these trailers and TV spots aren’t indicative of the film as a whole. Last month, Kevin Feige told MTV News that the Disney marketing team has a real knack for “being able to generate excitement without giving away any of the many, many, many secrets” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One thing we do know for sure is that Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of 10 years of storytelling and marks the last chapter in the Avengers saga as we know it. So maybe that intensity is warranted.

Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters April 26, 2019.
