Cole Sprouse And Lili Reinhart Are The Met Gala’s Campiest Couple

After making their red carpet debut as young Hollywood’s resident “It” couple at last year’s Met Gala, on-screen and off-screen lovebirds Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart are back and ready to make headlines for something other than their relationship. The Riverdale stars attended the 2019 Met Gala on Monday (May 6) in Dr. Seuss’s finest, most colorful threads. (And that’s not a diss considering that this year’s theme was all about camp.)

Between Reinhart’s sky-high, Marie Antoinette-inspired updo — which must have required at least a can of mousse and 500 bobby pins — and powder blue romper (with puffy sleeves and a long train for optimal drama!!!), and Sprouse’s embroidered red vest, slacks, and bow tie, the duo avoided the dreaded Sophomore slump and instead turned up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art ready to turn heads in their campiest fits.

While the couple is mostly private about their relationship, Sprouse recently opened up about the undeniable chemistry that brought them together while they were filming the first season of their hit CW series. “We legitimately could not stay away from one another,” he told the Los Angeles Times when asked about the potential ramifications of dating a costar.

And that incendiary connection is all you see when you look at their red carpet photos. Whether they’re smiling or smoldering, Sprouse and Reinhart are quite a dynamic pair. And did we mention that they’re very photogenic? Because they are. Here’s to many more Met Galas for the happy, fashion-fun couple.

We are LIVING for Lady Gaga stripping through four Met Gala outfits

Lady Gaga, patron saint of all that is Extra, arrived at this year’s Met Gala with not one, not two, not three, but four stunning looks for the pink carpet. 

Are we OK? Not at all. Take a deep breath — you’ll need it as we walk you through the wonderful journey that is Mother Monster’s camp-themed Russian nesting doll strip. 

This year’s Met Gala theme is Camp, based on the essay “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” Susan Sontag, who wrote the essay in 1964, defined camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.” She clarifies that you can’t expect to take camp seriously, and campy art tends to be viewed as “kitschy.” 

In modern day terms, camp is anything extra, and Lady Gaga nailed the theme based on her four-outfit strip alone. 

Let’s start with outfit one. Gaga arrived at the pink carpet in a billowing fuchsia gown, accompanied by an entourage of tuxedo’d men to help her, well, billow.

Gaga stunned us all once again when she was unzipped out of the black gown to reveal another hot pink dress underneath. This time, she accessorized with oversized sunglasses and an ’80s-esque clunky phone. She even reapplied lipstick while posing for photos.

Finally, as if we weren’t shook enough from the three perfect examples of camp, Gaga stunned us all with a fourth and final look. She literally stripped down to underwear and bedazzled tights, and toted a hot pink and gold wagon around the carpet.

Lakers Head Coach Rumors: Tyronn Lue Working Toward Contract with LA

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly working on a contract to make Tyronn Lue the team’s next head coach, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. 

Lue hasn’t yet accepted the job, but the two sides continue to work toward a deal.

Although changes can always take place before a contract is signed, this move has been expected, based on the latest rumors coming out of the organization.

Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported Friday that the Lakers were expected to offer Lue a deal in the coming days.

Lue also had a Lakers-themed birthday cake during his Las Vegas celebration this weekend:

If he does eventually take the job, the 42-year-old would reunite with LeBron James after the two spent parts of three seasons together for the Cleveland Cavaliers. During that stretch, the team went to three NBA finals and won a championship in 2016.

Overall, Lue had a 128-83 regular-season record with the Cavs before he was fired this season after an 0-6 start.

He has also been an assistant with three different organizations and played for seven different teams during his 11-year career. That includes three seasons with the Lakers at the start of his career.

If he takes the job, Lue would be expected to lead Los Angeles back to contention after six straight finishes outside the playoffs.

One bonus could be an experienced staff to help him out. According to Haynes, former Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic head coach Frank Vogel could become a lead assistant on the bench.

‘No survivors’ after jet crashed in Mexico’s remote mountain area

A plane crash in a remote mountain region in northern Mexico has claimed the lives of all 13 people on board, including a family of five that were flying back from watching a boxing match in Las Vegas.

The wreckage of the small private jet that took off from Las Vegas on Sunday was found via aerial surveillance in the northern municipality of Ocampo, the government of Coahuila state said in a statement on Monday.

“There were no survivors seen,” the statement said.

A photograph published on local television network Milenio showed what it said were the burnt remnants of the plane, broken into pieces, spread over charred earth.

Mexican media reported that the passengers had been to a boxing match between Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and US fighter Daniel Jacobs in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The victims were between 19 and 57 years old, according to a version of the passenger list published in Mexican media.

In a statement, Canada’s Bombardier Inc identified the jet as a Challenger 601 and said the plane had gone missing about 280 kilometres from the northern Mexican city of Monclova.

Expressing its condolences to the victims, the company said it had been in touch with Canada’s transportation safety board and would work with the investigating authorities.

Mexico’s civil aviation authority said the aircraft departed Las Vegas shortly before 3pm local time. Nearly two hours later, Monterrey lost track of the jet and was unable to make contact with pilots, it said in a statement.

Mexican broadcaster Televisa said that the pilot had intended to descend to avoid a storm.

Francisco Martinez, an emergency services official in Coahuila, told Milenio recent adverse weather conditions would form part of the investigation into the crash. However, he stopped short of saying weather had caused it.

Harry Styles (And His Nipples) Rocked The Met Gala In A Gorgeous Sheer Blouse

You might think that the Met Gala is over thanks to Lady Gaga shutting it down with four elaborate outfit changes, but you would be incorrect because Harry Edward Styles just showed up and he is a sight to behold.

From afar, Styles’s head-to-toe Gucci ensemble looks like a simple all-black ‘fit. But get a little closer, and you’ll see that the brilliance is in the details. His sheer blouse featured a ruffled bow, flowing lace sleeves, and buttons up the back, while giving us a peek at his tatted torso. For accessories, he wore a single pearl earring in his earlobe and adorned his hands with an array of rings. Top it off with shiny, heeled shoes, and you’ve got a Met Gala debut for the books — especially considering he walked the pink carpet with Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele.

A close-up of Styles’s manicure not only gave fans a peek at his blinged-out fingers, but also showcased the little pop of color in his polish. Gotta love a man who takes care of his nails.

At only 24, the One Direction singer has already become a major player in the fashion industry — he’s not only a muse and campaign face for Gucci, a sponsor for the Met Gala, but he’s also a co-chair of the 2019 event. If Gaga’s arrival established her as the Queen of Camp, Styles may have a claim as her King.

Woman says she was drugged at Jake Paul’s party, police report

A woman was allegedly drugged during Jake Paul’s house party on Saturday, according to an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Detectives are looking into a “possible single occurrence of unwillful impairment.”

A guest reported to police that she may have blacked out after “something was put in her drink,” a police spokesperson told BuzzFeed. The complaint came the day after Paul hosted a birthday party for the rapper Desiigner.

“Detectives are in the beginning stages of information gathering for the incident,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in an emailed statement to Mashable. “The Sheriff’s Department treats allegations such as these seriously, and will use all known resources to investigate.” 

In addition to the police report, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson confirmed to BuzzFeed that they responded to three separate calls to Paul’s Calabasas mansion on Saturday night. Two of the calls were related to two “sick” people who were brought to a nearby hospital between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. and another was because a guest jumped onto a nearby property and scared an elderly woman. The woman fell and was treated for “moderate injuries” at a local hospital, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Paul’s older brother Logan Paul was also in attendance and videos from the party were shared on social media. 

Further speculation was fueled by a post in a closed Facebook group for mothers in the area. The Facebook user claimed her daughter and multiple other young women were drugged and ended up “incoherent” at the local hospital. 

In a screenshot obtained by the Daily Dot, the apparent Facebook post also claimed guests had to “sign a disclaimer at the door.” 

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department did not confirm or deny allegations that multiple women were drugged, but urged anyone who has additional information to contact the Malibu/Lost Hills station at (818) 878-1808, or anonymously alert L.A. Crimestoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
