Move over, Love Island.

A new dating show is coming to town and we can only hope it’s going to be as refreshing as it sounds.

SEE ALSO: Facebook is testing its very own dating app

While dating shows on TV are always drama filled and generally fun to watch, they also tend to focus almost exclusively on dating between straight people.

The Bi Life will be the title of the new dating show on E! UK and Ireland, focusing on bisexual+ dating, meaning dating between people who identify as bisexual, pansexual or questioning. It will the the first dating show in the UK to focus exclusively on the bisexual+ dating experience.

Coming to our screens in October, the ten-part show will send a group of singles looking for love to Barcelona to party, date, and “navigate the rocky road of bisexual+ dating,” according to E!

The show will be hosted by drag queen Courtney Act, who is perhaps best know as a contestant in RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“In 2018 we know that sexuality is fluid and sharing the stories and experiences, the laughter and the love making, of young bi people is so important,” Courtney Act told E!.

Kim Sanders, Head of Media Engagement at the UK LGBTQ rights organisation Stonewall, told Mashable The Bi Life is an important step in the right direction for bisexual people.

“It’s great to hear there will be a new dating show about bi people,” says Sanders. “Representation is so important, especially for bi people who continue to be seriously underrepresented in mainstream media.”

“We hope this show will breakdown harmful stereotypes as well as exploring the unique challenges that bi people face when it comes to dating, whether that’s having to come out to their partner or using dating apps that force you to pick a gender,” says Sanders.

Up until now, bisexual representation on dating shows has been rare — apart from the occasional bisexual contestant on mainstream dating shows.

Only a few modern dating shows have been centred around bisexual dating, an example being MTV’s 2007 reality dating show A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila, where both men and women competed to date the bisexual television personality. Earlier this year Australia got its first bisexual dating show What’s your Flava?

We are so ready to obsess over every interaction on The Bi Life.

Is it October yet?

NBA Rookies Predict Deandre Ayton, Collin Sexton Will Be Co-Rookies of the Year

TARRYTOWN, NY - AUGUST 12: DeAndre Ayton #22 of the Phoenix Suns poses for a portrait during the 2018 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot on August 12, 2018 at the Madison Square Garden Training Facility in Tarrytown, New York. When it comes to the 2018-19 NBA Rookie of the Year race, this year’s draft class had a hard time deciding who would stand out above all the rest.

In the league’s annual rookie survey, via John Schuhmann of NBA.com, Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton and Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Collin Sexton were picked to be co-Rookies of the Year. They each received 18 percent of the votes, respectively.

Ayton was the top pick in this year’s draft, while Sexton went eighth overall.

Ayton joins a Phoenix squad that finished with the worst record in the league at 21-61 and is in the midst of an eight-year playoff drought. In four summer-league contests, the 7’1″ center averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

Sexton, meanwhile, was drafted before LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, Sexton’s role has changed dramatically as he will be tasked with contributing more without the four-time NBA MVP leading the way.

The Cavs could still be in playoff contention with five-time All-Star Kevin Love as the centerpiece. If Sexton can help Cleveland make the postseason, that would only enhance his resume.

Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic and New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox finished tied for third with nine percent each. Of note, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young and the Denver Nuggets’ Michael Porter Jr. each got six percent of the votes.

It’s important to take these results with a grain of salt. Since the survey was first conducted back in 2007, rookies have correctly predicted the winner just once in nine attempts: Kevin Durant in 2007. That does come with an asterisk, though, as Blake Griffin was chosen to be the winner in 2009; an injury sidelined him that year, but he won the award in his first year on the court in 2010-11.

While the rookie class chose Ayton and Sexton to stand out the most in Year 1, Chicago Bulls forward Wendell Carter Jr. was forecasted to have the best overall career.

Manafort trial Day 16: The jury digs in as political world waits

Alexandria courthouse

Jurors extended their deliberations Monday past 6 p.m., but quit for the night without announcing any verdicts. The jury was in court Tuesday for less than five minutes. | M. Scott Mahaskey/POLITICO

An unsmiling jury settled in for its fourth day of deliberations at the Paul Manafort trial Tuesday, making a perfunctory appearance in the courtroom before retiring to a nearby space filled with the nearly 400 exhibits introduced in the 18-count tax- and bank-fraud case against the former Trump campaign chairman.

Manafort entered the Alexandria, Virginia, courtroom in the company of federal marshals shortly before 9:30 a.m., sharply dressed in a gray suit, light blue shirt and blue-pattern tie, but with his hair a bit tousled.

Story Continued Below

Jurors extended their deliberations Monday past 6 p.m., but quit for the night without announcing any verdicts.

The lead prosecutor on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, Greg Andres, was on hand Tuesday after his absence Monday morning drew the notice of U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III.

Before the court session began, Andres— whose facial expressions in court often seem pained — shared a rare laugh with Manafort defense attorney Kevin Downing.

The jury was in court Tuesday for less than five minutes. As jurors filed in, most took seats towards the judge’s end of the jury box, consolidating themselves as they did for the first time Monday. However, on Tuesday, one juror left a seat vacant between him and his nearest colleague.

A clerk took the roll and Ellis made his usual inquiry about whether jurors had avoided any discussion or investigation of the case overnight. All indicated they had. The judge omitted his typical statement that the jury could deliberate for as little or as long as it liked, but simply the group off to resume their deliberations.

There has been no substantive message from jurors since their first day of deliberation, when they sent four questions to the judge, most of which he rebuffed.

Manafort’s wife Kathleen was in court again Tuesday morning. The veteran political consultant blew a kiss to his wife as he entered and seemed to pay her a compliment as he was escorted out.

Several of Paul Manafort’s attorneys did not immediately depart the courthouse after the morning session. Instead, they went to a holding cell on the building’s first floor to meet their client for about 20 minutes before heading to a hotel across the street to await a verdict.

After the brief court session, prosecutors dropped by the courthouse’s small second-floor cafe for coffee, before slipping through a nearby door that leads to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

‘American Vandal’ Season 2 trailer reveals the Turd Burglar: Watch

Someone contaminated the lemonade at St. Bernadine high school. Someone ruined chicken finger Monday. And that someone is the Turd Burglar.

SEE ALSO: ‘American Vandal’ star talks mockumentary hit: ‘It’s unique beyond belief’

American Vandal — arguably the funniest and most surprising series to come out of 2017 — returns with a second season on Netflix this September.

While the first season saw two high school documentarians get to the bottom of who drew dicks all over every car in the school parking lot, this season features a new school and a new villain who is terrorizing an elite Catholic school with some kind of laxative.

This trailer has a ton of poop in it, and undoubtedly the show will have even more once it drops (sorry) onto Netflix Sept. 14.

There’s no way the hot janitor did it.

Someone ordered a massive box of fried food and the internet had a lot to say about it

What will £10 ($12.84) get you in this day and age?

If you live in Scotland and have a rather large appetite, it could get you this staggering amount of fried food plus a large bottle of Scottish soda Irn-Bru.

SEE ALSO: We tried avocado chocolate toast, the new ‘it’ food according to at least one pop star

Known as a “crunch box” this dish features various fried food items resting on a bed of chips.

Twitter user @RossMcCaff posted an image of this incredible fried food bargain and people had a lot of questions about it.

A chippy in my hometown is selling this ‘crunch box’ for a TENNER and if you don’t think it looks like the most appetizing thing ever then there’s no hope for you. pic.twitter.com/BzKhYbEFWF

— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) August 19, 2018

Some people actually complained about the quantity of the fried stuff in the box.

Would it kill them to chuck in a few scraps from the fryer? Stingy gits.

— Nick Walker (@nickw84) August 19, 2018

Some made suggestions about what should be included in the box of food.

that’s the unseen starter, naturally

— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) August 19, 2018

McCafferty addressed many internetters’ concerns about the contents of the box.

Ciaran its literally on a bed of chips

— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) August 19, 2018

gravy and/or curry sauce optional

— Ross McCafferty (@RossMcCaff) August 19, 2018

Others viewed the crunch box more as an object worthy of anthropological analysis.

Just moved to Scotland from Texas and I’ve learned more from this one thread than from all my research.

— Cynthia Halatyn (@CynthiaHalatyn) August 19, 2018

But the crunch box mostly left the Scots proud. Like this user, who was inspired by the box to sing the 1977 song ‘Caledonia,’ one of the Scottish national anthems.

Take a good look at that crunch box. For as long as you live you’ll surely never see that many calories in one place.

La Liga Is Coming to America—and This Is Just the Beginning

B/R

The news that La Liga will play regular-season matches in the United States came as a surprise to most fans. But to Charlie Stillitano, it was long in the making.

Stillitano was one of the brains behind last Thursday’s historic announcement, which was described as “a first-of-a-kind, 15-year, equal joint venture to promote soccer in the U.S. and Canada.”

It means Spain’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, will play matches thousands of miles from home—with points at stake.

Soccer is growing fast in the States, with a Gallup poll in January leading Forbes to suggest it will soon be America’s third-favourite spectator sport. Stillitano is trying to make sure the country grasps this moment.

He is one of America’s most powerful figures in the game—he counts Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho as close friends and is the force behind the International Champions Cup, a pre-season tournament that has become a fixture in the U.S.

“I’ve been thinking for a long time about the possibility of having a regular-season game in the States, and that’s just the honest truth,” Stillitano tells Bleacher Report. “I was involved in the Italian Super Cup between Juve and Milan played in New Jersey in 2003. They were two of the biggest clubs in the world at that time—I’d say only Manchester United were bigger than them at the time. Since then, we have held many games, but we realised quickly that a league game is the best way to set the flag a lot firmer in the ground.

“The ICC has become a pre-eminent preparation tournament for all the major teams. But because of circumstances like the World Cup, they often don’t have their best players. Our advantage with hosting a league game is the anticipation that will come with it. It means the big players will be there.

“We have seen the NFL move games outside of America, so we asked, ‘Why can’t we do that the other way around?’”

La Liga is coming 🇺🇸🇨🇦 https://t.co/tCFsI8ZnPl

Sources in both Spain and America indicated to B/R the first La Liga match in the States will be played this season, and it is highly likely that Barcelona or Real Madrid will be involved.

This movement is not just about bringing Spanish football across the Atlantic but about, as Stillitano noted, the top clubs bringing their elite talent. And in doing that, he believes La Liga may have found a way to catch up to the Premier League in one of the few areas they lag behind.

“I think the Premier League is always pushing the other leagues, even the Champions League, because money is so important and goes through the entire league and even the Championship,” Stillitano says. “It pushes everyone—it’s the money involved. When they see these incredible deals the Premier League has been able to do, it has pushed all the other leagues to take a look at themselves and ask, ‘How can we build our brand?’”

While Stillitano sees that the Premier League has gained traction in the U.S., he questions how much it has to do with the quality of play.

“The Premier League has the advantage that English is spoken all over world as a first or second language,” he says, “but I think with this deal La Liga seized on the fact they have a big market they can hit here. There are a lot of Spanish-speaking areas; it makes sense.

“Look at the winners of the major European trophies, and it is Spain that has been dominant and had the best teams, yet it’s the Premier League that has made all the money. … But in terms of football, the Spanish are far and away better than anybody—and now they have agreed to play a game every year for 15 years in the U.S.”

The news has not been welcomed by everyone. Some fans in Spain are fearful over what this could mean for their own future experience of watching La Liga, while the Spanish Footballers’ Association released a statement to voice its concern:

“As per usual, La Liga has dispensed with the opinions of the players and has undertaken actions that only benefit them, regardless of the health or risks to the players, and even less the feelings of the following masses of the clubs who are being forced to compete in North America once a season.”

David Aganzo, president of the Spanish Footballers’ Association, added:

Niels Verborgh @NielsVerborgh

⚽ Spanish Footballers’ Union complains that it wasn’t consulted on the plan of playing La Liga-games in the USA.

Union director @davidaganzo :

“Players are not currency that can be used in business to only benefit third parties.”

#SportsLaw 🇪🇸

https://t.co/bbATYDtner

To journalist and La Liga expert Rafael Hernandez, the issue for many who are sceptical is that business interests are outpacing what’s best for the game.

“Local supporters think it might lead to a situation where part of top-level football in Spain is sold to the highest bidder rather than what’s really best for the fans and players alike,” Hernandez says. “Concerns are legitimate, and there’s a certain pessimism this cannot be stopped once it begins. On a positive note, bringing a few La Liga matches to a country like the United States, where football is growing slowly but steadily, could make it more popular. A world where the most sports-driven country invests more in football is one every fan wants to live in.”

Stillitano insists the plan isn’t to dilute football in Europe for a financial windfall but to expand the base of support.

“I am a traditionalist and purist,” he says. “Honestly, I am. I have supported AC Milan my whole life—back to the days of Gianni Rivera—but because I don’t live 12 blocks away, does that mean I’m not a big enough fan and should never be able to see them?

“Yes, fans in Spain may miss that one game. But the fans in America never get to see a game, and now they can. All this wasn’t just on our side, though. La Liga were having the same thoughts about how they could grow their brand.

“When I speak to leagues in Europe, they all see the NBA as the model to follow. It’s global, it’s sexy. The athletes are very cool. Look at how the NBA is made up—they base it on superstars. The NFL is built more on the badge and the jersey, and people are more loyal.”

And from what Stillitano has seen, the U.S. is ready to embrace a bigger European soccer presence.

“America is adopting the culture of European football,” he says. “Watch games out here, and you’ll see the chants being altered. The flags and tifos are here now in MLS.

“La Liga are looking beyond the here and now. They are looking at the next TV deal and social media growth. They are thinking ahead.”

Premier League fans fear they will be next on the hit list, and the possibility of taking English football’s Community Shield to America has been explored before. A long tie-in with Wembley brought a quick halt to the plan, but it is something that may one day be revisited.

Right now, the Spanish concept will get full focus ahead of its launch, and the level, or lack, of success will be closely watched.

There is a feeling that soccer fans in the U.S.—where the sport is less tribal—who already support MLS, Premier League or Serie A sides will now adopt a Spanish club, too, if they don’t already have one.

“Two things are very important to us,” explains Stillitano, whose company, Relevent Sports, began contract talks with La Liga on the plan about a year ago. “One is that the game is respected. The players will be treated every bit as well as they [would] be if they were playing a Champions League match. We’ll take care of everyone. The game itself will be respected, too; we don’t need a load of fireworks or cheerleaders.

“The other thing is that we will look after the fans who would have had the match as their home game. We need to find a way to take care of those people, to make sure those who are upset with us get something back from this.

“I hope that once everyone sees the success of a first game, they will be won over. But we do still have to address it now.”

And as this grand experiment begins, it leads some to wonder if more European matches are on the way to America. Could, perhaps, a day come when the Champions League final is held in the U.S.?

Stillitano thinks so: “I say, why not?”

Jon Stewart helped rescue 2 adorable goats because he’s a big hero

Jon Stewart is best known as a comedian and former host of The Daily Show. But the truth is, he’s so much more than that.

Anyone who follows his wife, author and activist Tracey Stewart on Instagram, for instance, will know that the two of them are also a heroic duo of animal saviours.

SEE ALSO: Jon Stewart saved a runaway bull named Frank from slaughter

Behold:

Back in 2015, the Stewarts announced that they were partnering with animal protection organisation Farm Sanctuary, turning their farm in New Jersey into what essentially sounds like one big animal save haven.

Now it sounds like they’re out saving animals on an almost daily basis. Back in 2016 they made headlines rescuing a bull named Frank, and on Monday they helped save two goats that strayed onto the NYC Subway line.

Those goats caused quite a stir on Twitter, but they ultimately ended up in the Stewarts’ safe hands. Here’s a video Farm Sanctuary shared on their Facebook page on Monday.

“They’re safe now,” wrote Farm Sanctuary on Facebook. “These goats were found terrified on the subway tracks in Brooklyn this morning. Tonight, they are on their way to our flagship sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY, thanks to Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), our friends Tracey and Jon Stewart, and our talented Farm Sanctuary rescue team.”

What better way to spend your retirement than going around the city saving animals?
