This short line of code can force restart your iPhone or iPad

The latest iOS hack won’t steal your data, but it will annoy you.

Fifteen short lines of code on a webpage can restart your iPhone or iPad. Alternatively, visiting it on a Mac can cause the Safari window to freeze.

As reported by TechCrunch, this exploit can easily be transmitted and sent to unsuspecting iOS users. Since it’s a short snippet of code, it can hide on almost any webpage. It will restart your device by actually enabling a fail-safe that is built into iOS.

Image: screenshot by jake krol Mashable/github

The code tries to use all available resources, which results in a kernel panic. In response, the iPhone will then power cycle off and power cycle on to prevent any damage.

Luckily, that’s all the code does. There is nothing truly malicious. So it can’t steal your data, access your passwords, or see any info from your device.

Fair warning, clicking the second link in the tweet above will cause a restart. I tested this exploit on an iPhone X running the latest iOS 12 beta and a 10.5-inch iPad Pro running 11.4.1. – both devices power cycled off, and a few seconds later the Apple logo appeared as it restarted.

For now, it might be a fun way to prank a friend or the latest way that hackers can troll iPhone users. Be wary of incoming links from unsuspecting sources, and if your phone turns off as a result of this code just know it won’t steal data. If anything, it might give you a moment of solitude when it disconnects you from the ever-connected world.

Fingers crossed that the iOS teams at Apple are working swiftly to address this.

What to expect from high-stakes Kim-Moon summit

Seoul, South Korea – South Korean President Moon Jae-in, joined by more than 200 officials, is set to embark on a high-stakes trip to Pyongyang for talks with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-un.

On an exceptionally rare occasion in the reclusive country, the first moment of the two leaders’ encounter in North Korea’s capital, as well as the summit’s key events, will be beamed live to the rest of the world.

Moon’s three-day trip, which starts on Tuesday and is only the third of its kind for a sitting South Korean president since the division of the Korean Peninsula, comes amid a diplomatic quandary over stalled nuclear disarmament negotiations between North Korea and the United States.

Washington wants to see a concrete timetable and actions for North Korea’s denuclearisation before beginning to dole out any rewards to the country, which has a track record of defaulting on previous nuclear deals.

North Korea, on the other hand, has called for the US to provide a security guarantee through a joint declaration of a formal end to the 1950-1953 Korean War, which ended in an armistice rather than a peace treaty, and left some international sanctions imposed on impoverished North Korea.

Irreconcilable gulf?

In late August, US President Donald Trump cancelled Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s planned visit to Pyongyang at the 11th hour, citing a lack of sufficient progress made since his historic summit with Kim in Singapore in June.

The impasse presents an enormous challenge to pro-engagement Moon, who has been asked by both sides to play the role of mediator.

“If it becomes clear that the talks with North Korea are stuck, the hardliners in Washington and Seoul, especially in Washington, will have an upper hand and probably will start to demand a speedy return to their hardline maximum pressure policy,” Andrei Lankov, professor at Kookmin University in Seoul, told Al Jazeera.

Lankov, who is among the many long-time North Korea watchers who are sceptical about the authenticity of the pledged nuclear disarmament, argued that South Korea’s delegation would work hard to put on a theatrical performance that would create a sense that everything was fine.

“It is smart diplomacy, because it creates an environment where hardliners would have problems in pushing through their bellicose policy,” he said.

Denuclearisation and sanctions

Denuclearisation is generally understood to be a time-consuming process, involving many stages before the dismantling of nuclear weapons.

“If you do this step by step, it becomes virtually impossible to achieve the denuclearisation within two-and-a-half years,” Moon Chung-in, special adviser to the South Korean president, told foreign media in his personal capacity, referring to Kim’s recent offer of Trump’s first term as a target timeframe.

The adviser argued the upcoming summit could serve as an opportunity for South Korea’s leader to persuade his counterpart on a simultaneous exchange approach, which he would later propose to Trump, too.

He floated one possible scenario that would see North Korea agreeing to an extraordinary concession such as allowing the US to take out some – if not all – nuclear weapons, and in return the US would be willing to ease some economic sanctions.

Agenda points

At the upcoming summit, another important matter on South Korea’s agenda would be improving its own relations with North Korea.

In the economic field, there are relatively innocuous projects – such as cooperation in the forestry sector -that would not violate a string of sanctions from the United Nations Security Council, Bong Young-shik, a research fellow at Yonsei University Institute for North Korean studies, told Al Jazeera.

The two leaders are also expected to discuss ways to ease tensions along one of the world’s most fortified borders, a follow-up on the Panmunjom Declaration after their inter-Korean summit on April 27.

The militaries from both sides have been holding meetings to discuss removing army guard posts and landmines inside the Demilitarised Zone and setting up a “maritime peace zone” in the West Sea, a scene of numerous deadly military skirmishes in the past.

“It would be tangible achievements of this summit if the two leaders agree on measures for conventional arms reduction,” Bong added.

Experts have long acknowledged that it would be quite inconceivable for either country to use nuclear arms as its first choice of weaponry in modern-day warfare due to catastrophic consequences, yet warn of the possibility of an accidental clash rapidly escalating into an uncontrollable situation.

How Hailey Dawson pitched at every MLB stadium with 3D-printed hand

Hailey Dawson likes to be photographed with her 3D-printed hand front and center. Sometimes she curls it into a fist and flexes her biceps. Other times she keeps it flat as a pancake, elbow bent into a classic dab.

However she holds it, the point is that it’s there and she wants you to look at it.

She’s gotten baseball fans around the country to pay attention to it, too, by throwing the first pitch at every MLB stadium to raise awareness of the need for affordable prosthetics. After she pitches at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Sunday afternoon, the 30th and last stadium on her list, she will complete what her family is calling her Journey to 30

When Hailey was born, her right hand came out different than the left. The right had a pinky and a thumb, but the three fingers in the middle were missing — her “nubbins” as her family calls them. Poland syndrome, the genetic condition she was born with, inhibits the development of a chest muscle. This makes the affected side of the body smaller and in some cases, causes abnormalities in an individual’s fingers.

After her tour of baseball stadiums, which started in 2015, Hailey is looking towards the future. The eight-year-old says she’s ready for some vacation.

Her mom bursted her bubble on those vacation plans, though, during a phone call with Mashable in August.

“You still have school,” Yong Dawson, Hailey’s mom said. The third-grader grunted audibly in response.

Journey to 30

Hailey’s journey began when she threw the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles baseball game. After tossing the ball to her favorite player, Manny Machado, the two celebrated with a fist bump. The experience made her so happy, her mom wrote to a second team to see if she could do it all over again, this time with the Washington Nationals. It took a little while for it to be arranged, but she eventually got an in for Game 4 of the 2017 World Series Game.

Then Bleacher Report picked up the story and the remaining 28 stadiums clambered for her to visit. United offered to cover the cost of her flights.

“Hailey’s hope was to visit all the ballparks and throw a strike. To have fun,” Yong said. “For me, it was to spread the awareness of Poland syndrome and how easily accessible the robotic hand is.”

Now that the dream has come true, the two plan to continue to use Hailey’s online community to make prosthetics affordable and accessible for those who need them.

Making a robotic hand

A prosthetic hand can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000. More sophisticated prosthetics, such as myoelectric arms that are controlled by a person’s muscle movements, have price tags of upwards of $100,000.

For families with kids like Hailey, that cost increases over time. As children grow, they’ll need modifications to or replacements for their initial prosthetic. Physical therapists and regular wear is similarly expensive. Unfortunately, most health insurance companies restrict how much a patient can spend on their devices.

In 2013, Yong was scrolling through Facebook when she spotted an article about a 3D-printed hand that gave a 5-year old boy finger mobility. The materials to make it cost $150. There was even a link with instructions.

She took the information and called the engineering department at University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Experts there used the site’s blueprint, but tweaked it to fit Hailey’s hand.

“We simply thought that we could scale it down to fit her hand. This did not work and we found that we have to do multiple adjustments to fit her hand properly,” the engineering college’s dean of research, Mohamed Trabia said.

The 3D-printed materials brought down the price, that’s for sure, but the driving factor behind this particular hand’s affordability is the family’s partnership with UNLV.

“The material cost alone may be misleading,” Trabia pointed out. “Since the project is voluntary, we depend on our students’ generosity with their time.”

In addition to providing a 3D printer, the university’s graduate students have worked tirelessly — and without pay — to adjust the original model to fit Hailey’s hand. Maria Geraldi, the main engineering student behind the project, spent months creating an adjustable thumb to improve Hailey’s grip.

When Hailey tried on a 3D-printed hand for the first time several years ago, her four-year old face looked skeptical as an occupational therapist handed her a grocery bag. Moments later, Hailey was gleefully using the 3D technology to carry the bag back and forth across the room.

For others looking to purchase a robotic hand like Hailey’s, Yong suggests getting in touch with Enabling The Future, a nonprofit that connects families in need of affordable prosthetics to people with 3D printers.

But finding a 3D printer is just step one of many. One must also find a knowledgeable person to refine the device. For this, both Yong and Trabia advise contacting a university.

“I think that any university would see this as a unique learning opportunity for their engineering students,” Trabia said.

In addition to raising awareness, the mother-daughter duo are huge advocates of self-love. In this way, Journey to 30 was also a campaign on self-acceptance.

Difference as strength

Hailey was taught growing up to be open about her genetic condition. If someone asked about it or stared too long, her parents encouraged her to feel comfortable answering questions.

Indeed, Hailey finds it funny when people gawk at it.

“People stare at it all the time,” Hailey said. Then she sat up and pretended that someone was looking at her hand, “and I’m just like ‘lalalalalala.’”

Over the course of the last three years, Hailey and her mother have used social media accounts to spread positive messages about differences. Using her Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts, the two make clear her story is not a sad one.

“Strength lies in differences not in similarities” one post reads. Another says, “Self confidence is the best outfit. Rock it and own it!”

A book you say?

Yong and Hailey hope to write a book one day about all the adventures they’ve had over the course of Journey to 30. They have not made official plans yet, but Hailey appears up to the task. She has already proven herself to be an excellent writer — just check out the missive below posted on Instagram.

After their long journey together, Yong sees her daughter’s story as a lesson in tenacity.

“The Journey to 30 means that an 8-year-old born with a birth defect can do what no one else ever has. All it takes is the courage to ask and the persistence to keep pushing through the challenges,” she said.

Urban Meyer Fulfills Suspension, Says ‘Intent Was to Try to Help All Involved’

Ohio State University football coach Urban Meyer is seen during a press conference in Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, to announce the results of an investigation of NCAA college football coach Urban Meyer for the way he handled domestic-abuse allegations against a former assistant. Ohio State suspended Meyer on Wednesday for three games for mishandling domestic violence accusations, punishing one of the sport's most prominent leaders for keeping an assistant on staff for several years after the coach's wife accused him of abuse. (AP Photo/Paul Vernon)

Paul Vernon/Associated Press

With his suspension officially over, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is once again addressing the controversy that kept him away from the program for three games.

In an interview with ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi, Meyer says he was never trying to dismiss or downplay the domestic violence allegations against former assistant coach Zach Smith.

“My intent was to try to help all involved,” Meyer said. “The only way that I knew how at the time, and I had two choices: fire a man and really put a family in upheaval financially, etc., or try to stabilize someone so you can go up and be a good father.”

Meyer also emphasized his feelings about domestic violence, and why his suspension wasn’t the result of ignoring allegations against one of his assistant coaches:

“I’m very clear on my view of life, on my view of people, and domestic violence is at the forefront. I can’t stand when I see it. I can’t stand when I hear it. For anyone at this university to believe that Urban Meyer would turn his back on domestic violence, I need to leave.

“It’s very clear, my stance on domestic violence. I was not suspended for that. I was suspended because I mismanaged a very troubled employee and I went too far to help him.”

Meyer announced Smith’s firing in July after his ex-wife, Courtney Smith, filed a domestic violence civil protection order against him after he was charged with criminal trespassing.

Smith worked on Meyer’s staff at Florida from 2005-09 and joined him at Ohio State in 2012. Bill Landis of Cleveland.com reported last month that domestic violence allegations against Smith made by his ex-wife dated back to 2009.

During Ohio State’s investigation into Meyer’s handling of Smith, the university revealed text messages between Courtney and Shelley Meyer:

Chris Vannini @ChrisVannini

Urban told Rinaldi he had knowledge of those texts until recently.

“The first time I heard of those texts were just recently in the last month,” Meyer said. “Shelley did not share text messages with me.”

Ohio State said neither Meyer nor athletic director Gene Smith “condoned or covered up the alleged domestic abuse” by Smith, but their failure to “take sufficient management action” led to both men being suspended by the university.

9 gifts you can totally borrow from your friends later

The season of giving is almost upon us, but this year why not give gifts that you can enjoy as well? Why not give a gift you can borrow?

Think about it: Giving a friend a gift you’d want to receive yourself shows that you’ve picked out a high quality item and have selflessly given it away, rather than keeping it for yourself. Is it so terrible to want to borrow it from time to time? My feeling: no, it is not. What friend or loved one wouldn’t want you to think economically while gift shopping?

SEE ALSO: 9 things you absolutely do not need to bring to college

Still, perhaps it is best to keep people in the dark about your plans to borrow their stuff — for a few days, at least.

Here are some of the best gifts for sharing, from cooking gadgets to subscription boxes:

1. Speakers

<img alt="The smaller the speaker, the easier it is to transport it back to your place at a later date." class="" data-credit-name="Vomercy/Amazon
” data-credit-provider=”custom type” data-fragment=”m!4346″ data-image=”https://ift.tt/2xlOHJ3; data-micro=”1″ src=”https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/mYNmI5juEAM8WpWYhb3KjB3qDwY=/fit-in/1200×9600/https%3A%2F%2Fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fcard%2Fimage%2F839540%2Fe1426841-c293-4e16-b514-c7534e5c1c26.png”>

Image: Vomercy/Amazon

A nice set of speakers are invaluable, especially when it comes to setting the mood for parties and relaxed hang-outs, alike. If you don’t have the cash to get a set of speakers for you and your bud, you can count on borrowing these after you gift them.

Chances are your friend won’t be using them all the time, and if you pick a relatively small speaker like Vomercy’s Bluetooth Speakers, it’ll be pretty easy to borrow for a party of your own.

Price: $49.99 on Amazon

2. A tool kit

<img alt="Imagine the crafting you could do!" class="" data-credit-name="WORKPRO/amazon” data-credit-provider=”custom type” data-fragment=”m!f943″ data-image=”https://ift.tt/2QArMTm; data-micro=”1″ src=”https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/qdVGzcpGmrIBntXJil9lK9quTrI=/fit-in/1200×9600/https%3A%2F%2Fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fcard%2Fimage%2F843116%2F34f1c803-761e-4c79-81b4-42f983b2de84.png”>

Image: WORKPRO/amazon

Sure, a tool kit isn’t the sexiest gift to give someone, but everyone needs a tool kit if they don’t have one yet. Plus, you’ll know exactly who to go to when you have to put together a new Ikea desk, and you won’t have to shell out more cash on your own kit.

Workpro makes a pretty affordable 29-piece tool kit that comes with its own handy roll-up bag, making it easy to transport from a friend’s house to yours.

Price: $19.99 on Amazon

3. A subscription box

A candy-of-the-month subscription box from Candy Club is a wonderful gift, but odds are that whoever you give it to will end up with more candy than they can handle. That’s where you step in.

Just gently remind your friend or family member that you’re happy to take any extra candy off their hands. And it doesn’t just have to be candy. You can also gift other subscription box services like Birchbox or Try the World, in the hopes of having the extras your friend’s not interested in sent your way.

Price: $29.99 to $39.99 per month at Candy Club

4. Games

<img alt="Why buy a game you can borrow?" class="" data-credit-name="Cards against humanity/amazon” data-credit-provider=”custom type” data-fragment=”m!8315″ data-image=”https://ift.tt/2xnOpSc; data-micro=”1″ src=”https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/HaQ-D1X9VY4a5aRQ8O6gm5z1lxg=/fit-in/1200×9600/https%3A%2F%2Fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fcard%2Fimage%2F839527%2F36422531-e6f1-4306-8ec8-96d3041a357f.png”>

Games are obviously perfect for sharing — especially party games like Cards Against Humanity which require multiple people to play.

Price: $25 on Amazon

5. A great book

<img alt="It's unfair to books if they're not read as much as possible." class="" data-credit-name="Kevin kwan/amazon” data-credit-provider=”custom type” data-fragment=”m!cff4″ data-image=”https://ift.tt/2Qz3xVq; data-micro=”1″ src=”https://i.amz.mshcdn.com/4SNtvS-e1whLUzULP0g9Kag_D7c=/fit-in/1200×9600/https%3A%2F%2Fblueprint-api-production.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fuploads%2Fcard%2Fimage%2F839611%2F75f971d8-aa07-438b-8145-d48659dcfad3.png”>

Image: Kevin kwan/amazon

Books are quite possibly the most borrow-able gift. Once your friend’s finished, it’s unlikely she’ll pick it up again, unless she’s a member of a very serious book club.

If there’s a bestseller you were looking to read, or a cookbook that you want but just can’t justify buying for yourself, get it for a friend and ask to borrow it once they’ve finished (or forgetten) it.

Our book pick: Crazy Rich Asians, by Kevin Kwan. The New York Times bestseller is the inspiration for one of this summer’s most talked about (and most profitable) films.

Price: $9.60 on Amazon

6. A cozy, soft blanket

Schefter: Aaron Rodgers Expected to Play vs. Vikings with ‘Unusual’ Knee Injury

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Per ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers intends to play through what one source called a “pretty unusual injury that would keep most people out awhile.”

Schefter added the injury is described as a “compression injury from blunt force while bent” that could take up to a couple of months to completely heal.

“He shouldn’t have played last week and shouldn’t play now, but he likely will,” one source told Schefter. “There will certainly be a short leash, like there was last week, but we saw what happened.”

Rodgers, 34, suffered what he’s called a sprained knee in Week 1’s win over the Chicago Bears. He was injured in the first half but came back into the game, leading a 20-point comeback despite dealing with considerable pain.

Rodgers missed practice the entire week. However, head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers did not need to practice to play but acknowledged his status for Saturday’s practice would be a factor. “He feels better than he did at the beginning of the week,” McCarthy said. “Tomorrow’s practice will be a big indicator.

“He can play with no reps. We’ve established that point some time ago in his career. You’d like to walk off the field Saturday and have your plan set, but this is the NFL. Things happen. We’ll be ready for anything. I know he wants to play. We’ll see how it goes.”

Rodgers missed nine games last season because of a broken collarbone, and the Packers went 3-6 in those games and have historically struggled in games he has missed.

DeShone Kizer would have gotten the start for the Packers. Yet he turned the ball over twice in three possessions against the Bears and had one of the worst rookie seasons for a quarterback in recent history in 2017 with the Cleveland Browns. The Notre Dame product threw for 2,894 yards and 11 touchdowns against 22 interceptions.

Suffice it to say, the Packers will hope Rodgers can play. Should he, he’ll face a Vikings defense that recorded three sacks and hit Jimmy Garoppolo nine times last week.

Refugee advocates blast arrests of rescue workers in Greece

Athens, Greece – Three years ago, Sara Mardini and her sister rescued 18 refugees in the Aegean Sea, diving into the water and guiding their sinking dinghy to dry land on Greece’s Lesbos Island.

Mardini and her sister Yusra, who went on to swim in the 2016 Olympics, were subsequently lauded as heroes and gained international notoriety.

She went on to work with the Emergency Response Centre International (ERCI), a nonprofit organisation on Lesbos, before eventually continuing their journey to Germany. In late 2017, she returned to Lesbos to volunteer with ERCI again.

But now 23-year-old Mardini is behind bars in Korydallos Prison, a high-security facility near Athens, and three of her ERCI colleagues have been arrested, as well.

Authorities arrested them on August 21 and dealt them daunting charges ranging from people smuggling to espionage and membership in a criminal organisation. Under Greek law, they can be held in pre-trial detention for up to 18 months.

Greek police detained Mardini at the island’s airport as she prepared to travel back to Germany for university studies.

Her lawyer, Haris Petsalnikos, maintains that she was not in Greece during many of the incidents detailed in the allegations and has called for her release.

The accused individuals include ERCI field director Nassos Karakitsos, a Greek citizen, and volunteer Sean Binder, a 24-year-old German national. A third individual who was charged has requested that his name be withheld, according to the organisation.

In a press release, Greek police said the NGO facilitated “the illegal entry of aliens into Greek territory” and provided “direct assistance to organised illegal immigration networks”.

The statement added that police are investigating 30 individuals in connection to the case, which includes allegations of human trafficking, money laundering, spying and counterfeiting, among others.

A week after the arrests, the ERCI published a statement dismissing the “unfounded claims, charges and accusations”.

‘I knew I had to do something’

Panos Moraitis, a 39-year-old Greek national who founded the ERCI in December 2015, said he plans to present himself to authorities in Lesbos in the coming days and expects to be arrested, as well.

Rejecting the allegations, Moraitis explained that he decided to join a swell of volunteers heading to Greek islands as the refugee crisis unfolded in 2015.

Each morning while commuting to work, he would listen to the radio and hear updates from Lesbos as tens of thousands of refugees reached the island. “I heard the news every morning, and I saw the photos,” he recalled, speaking to Al Jazeera by telephone.

“What really tipped me over was what convinced thousands of people to volunteer: the photo of Aylan Kurdi,” he recalled, referring to a Syrian toddler whose lifeless body washed up on Turkish shores in September 2015.

At the time, images of Kurdi went viral and made international headlines.

“My wife was pregnant with my daughter then, and I knew I had to do something,” Moraitis said.

Advocates say the arrests are part of a broader wave of clamping down on volunteers, aid workers and activists who have worked with refugees and migrants fleeing war zones and economic devastation in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

In 2016, Greek police arrested a pair of Spanish activists who were attempting to help transport refugees from the country, in the port city of Igoumenitsa.

In March, Italian authorities launched an investigation into Proactiva Open Arms and seized a rescue ship, accusing three individuals of criminal activities related to facilitating migration to the country.

Two months later, three Spanish firefighters were put on trial for helping refugees enter the EU on Lesbos. Those charges could land them behind bars for 10 years.

In Hungary, far-right Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government passed into law in June a measure prohibiting individuals and NGOs from providing aid to refugees and migrants entering the Central European country.

Nassim Lomani, an Athens-based activist who came to Europe from Afghanistan two decades ago, said the effort to crack down on rescue workers, NGOs and refugee solidarity activists comes at a time when the EU seeks to stem the flow of refugees and migrants to the continent.

“It’s getting worse,” he told Al Jazeera, “and I have the feeling it will continue to get much worse.”

Arrivals continue

In recent months, several European countries, among them Germany, Austria and Italy, have sought to limit the entry and movement of asylum seekers.

Last month, Germany struck a deal with Greece to return asylum seekers to the Mediterranean country if it was their first port of entry into the bloc.

In Italy, the newly-appointed far-right interior minister, Matteo Salvini, has prompted outrage across the continent by refusing to allow refugee boats to disembark on the country’s shores.

In late August, Salvini initially blocked a boat carrying some 177 people from unloading, leading to a nearly week-long standoff.

But in Greece boats continue to arrive, despite declining living standards in the overcrowded camps, particularly on the islands, and the apparent attempts to discourage rescue workers and activists.

According to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR), more than 21,000 refugees and migrants have reached Greece in 2018, a number that pales in comparison to the nearly million who passed through the country three years earlier.

On Thursday, the Greek coast guard retrieved 65 people on a boat in the Mediterranean near southwestern Greece, according to the local daily Ekathimerini.

Arrivals have also swelled on the country’s land border with Turkey, where a growing number of people cross the Evros River to enter Greece.

Meanwhile, with the charges pending against four of its members, the ERCI has suspended all its operations indefinitely.

Among those services was a clinic in Moria, a cramped refugee camp on Lesbos, and programmes in the nearby Karatepe camp.

“Based on what I’ve seen till now, our people are being prosecuted for doing nothing wrong,” Moraitis said.

“It feels like the authorities want to make an example out of us to scare others from doing search-and-rescue,” he concluded.

“In the end, they [authorities] will say, ‘Oops, our bad,’ but lives will have been ruined already.”
