Antonio Brown on Slow Start: ‘Watch the Tape … I Can’t Throw It to Myself’

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown had a clear message Friday for those wondering about his slow start to the season: “Watch the tape.”

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Brown told media members to “watch the tape” eight times Friday before giving a more detailed answer:

“My statistics are already there. I’ve already done everything from a statistical point. Obviously, it’s out of my control. I can’t throw it to myself. But what’s important is we continue to win. I’m getting a lot of respect out there. Guys are doubling me, tripling me. But what’s new? We’ve got to continue to win. Winning is most important. Obviously I think I’m the top-rated receiver from 2010 [among] who’s in the league. It’s all about winning at this point.”

Through three games this season, Brown has just 24 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns, although he ranks first in the NFL among players who have appeared in three or fewer contests with 42 targets.

Brown is a six-time Pro Bowler who has topped 100 catches in five consecutive seasons, but he is currently second on the Steelers in both receptions and receiving yards behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has 27 grabs for 356 yards.

The 30-year-old veteran has had an up-and-down season in several respects, as he missed a meeting last week and was disciplined by head coach Mike Tomlin.

Previously, Brown tweeted, “Trade me let’s find out,” when a former Steelers employee suggested on Twitter that Brown’s success was due to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, per Fowler.

Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, later clarified that his client did not want to be traded, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “The tweet yesterday was not in reference to anything other than Antonio responding to a person he knows. It was not directed towards a trade, or wanting to be [traded]. Any idea he was asking for a trade is not accurate.”

While Brown’s numbers aren’t jumping off the page so far this season as they usually do, he is confident things will get on track:

“It’s all about winning a championship, getting in the Hall of Fame. It’s bigger than me. Bigger than stats. I’m trying to do something special. As long as we continue to win, the number will add up themselves. I’m still doing my job, regardless of if the ball is coming. I’m still running full speed, being a professional. Just gotta continue to do what’s right.”

Brown and the Steelers are 1-1-1, which ties them for third in the AFC North with the Cleveland Browns behind the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.

Pittsburgh will have a chance to eliminate the gap Sunday night when it hosts the Ravens in an important rivalry game.

Can Turkey and Germany restore their broken relationship?

Turkey’s president is in the middle of a three-day state visit to Germany, but the leaders of the two countries have not seen eye-to-eye on many issues recently.

It’s a critically important tour for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as Turkey faces an economic crisis brought on by the crash of its currency, the lira, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel could be part of the solution.

But behind the cordial greetings and joint news conferences, it’s been a rocky relationship for years.

The two leaders have traded barbs over everything from human rights abuses to political campaigning and migration.

But with three million Turks living in Germany, it’s always going to be a relationship that needs to work.

Woman who confronted Flake ‘relieved’ he called for delaying Kavanaugh vote

Maria Gallagher, who on Friday confronted Sen. Jeff Flake with her story of sexual assault, said she was “relieved” when the Arizona Republican called for an FBI investigation into allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Gallagher, a resident of New York, stood next to Ana Maria Archila, co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, earlier Friday as the two held open the doors of an elevator Flake was taking on his way to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Soon after, Flake said he would vote to advance Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Senate floor, but he said he wanted a vote in the full body delayed for one week while the FBI investigated the allegations.

Story Continued Below

“I feel relieved that @JeffFlake seems to have heard my and @AnaMariaArchil2’s voices in the Senate elevator today,” Gallagher tweeted. “We absolutely need an FBI investigation and for him and all Senators to vote NO. #StopKavanaugh”

Kavanaugh has been accused publicly of sexual assault by three women from his time at Georgetown Preparatory School and Yale University — allegations he has denied, including during a 9-hour Thursday hearing with one of his accusers, Christine Blasey Ford.

Video of Gallagher and Archila talking about their experiences with assault, while a somber Flake looked away, garnered millions of views Friday.

“I was sexually assaulted and nobody believed me. I didn’t tell anyone, and you’re telling all women that they don’t matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them, you are going to ignore them,” a tearful Gallagher told Flake. “Look at me and tell me that it doesn’t matter what happened to me, that you will let people like that go into the highest court of the land and tell everyone what they can do to their bodies.”

“The way that justice works is you recognize hurt, you take responsibility for it and then you begin to repair it,” Archila said.

“I need to go to the hearing,” Flake responded.

Flake’s last-minute decision to call for an investigation was a change in course after the Arizona senator released a statement earlier in the morning saying he would support Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), whose vote has also been in question, announced her support for an FBI probe and one-week delay, adding pressure on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to postpone a floor vote.

Speaking at the White House on Friday, President Donald Trump said he would follow the lead of Senate Republicans: “I will be totally reliant on what [Judiciary Chairman] Grassley and the group decides to do.”

Selena Gomez And Cardi B Bring Bilingual Heat To DJ Snake’s ‘Taki Taki’

DJ Snake/Twitter

There’s only one thing wrong with DJ Snake‘s summery new song “Taki Taki,” and that’s the fact that it arrives into the world on September 28, a full 99 days after Summer ’18 began. Nevertheless, the certified banger is still mandatory listening, and that’s thanks to its all-star roster: Snake, Ozuna, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez.

Puerto Rican heartthrob Ozuna gets the party started with a smooth verse that rides the beat and introduces us to a hypnotic, flute-heavy hook. Cardi and Selena follow suit with bilingual contributions — the former brags, “this punani is undefeated,” while the latter injects some cheeky playfulness by cooing, “careful when you come through my way, my body already know how to play.” It’s a super radio-friendly mix of reggaeton and hip-hop, a bubbly burst of personalities, and proof that the Latin pop resurgence is far from over. We like it like that.

“Taki Taki” was announced back in August, and DJ Snake, Ozuna, Cardi, and Selena have all teased the accompanying video, which looks to be a red-hot affair. In a recent interview with Billboard on the video’s set, Snake revealed that he had originally recorded the collab with just Ozuna, but later decided it needed a feminine touch.

“I wanted to make a reggaeton club record. So I sent it to Ozuna, and he crushed it,” the producer said. “But I want to have more females in the record, Spanish-speaking, so two queens right here. … This is what I always wanted to do, they blessed me with this greatness and dope energy. It’s just a great combo.”

Keep your eyes peeled for the video, which will hopefully arrive before winter does!

Technology is changing faster than our ability to make sense of it, yet much of it is geared towards dealing with an uncertain future. Each episode of this series curates one genius moment being developed now to improve our lives tomorrow.

Polish designer Roza Janusz has found a way to create fully edible, fully biodegradable food packaging out of a bacteria fermentation process. To produce the material, she starts with a kombucha SCOBY (aka symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) which she then feeds with other organic substances and lets it grow for two weeks.

When it comes to edible packaging, Poland is showing the way to the rest of the world. Biotrem’s edible tableware made from wheat bran is a second example that has already hit the market.

Hacker backpedals on his brazen threat to delete Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account

Can this hacker really delete Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account?

A Taiwanese bug bounty-hunter claimed this week that he would delete Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Facebook account and promised to stream the attack live on Facebook.

Now, in an unexpected twist, he’s backpedaling on his promise to livestream the deletion of Zuckerberg’s account —  but not on the claim that he found a severe vulnerability within Facebook.

SEE ALSO: Russian hackers are taking their cyber warfare to the next level

The scandal first broke when Bloomberg reported on a scheduled Facebook Event created by the 23-year-old Taiwanese hacker Chang Chi-yuan in which the hacker described “live-streaming the deletion of [Facebook] founder Zuck’s account.”

But in the ensuing hours since the story was picked up by Bloomberg and other major news outlets, Chang wrote another long, somewhat rambling Facebook post backpedaling on his promise to publicly demonstrate that he could, in fact, delete Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account.

In the new post, Chang said he didn’t expect for his event, which was sent to more than 27,000 people, to go viral. He said the event was really only meant for people in Taiwan. However, he reaffirmed that he did discover a method that would have a allowed him to delete Zuckerberg’s account. He posted screenshots of his bug submission to Facebook.

Chang Chi-yuan’s claims were originally met with intrigue, especially since he’s not just some random person boasting on the internet with nothing to back it up. At 23 years old, Chang Chi-yuan has developed a name for himself within hacking communities as a bug bounty-hunter, or in other words someone who finds bugs in software and services, and responsibly discloses them to the company that owns them. In return, the companies usually provides some sort of monetary reward with variables dependent on each company.

Chang has been a guest on local television talk shows to discuss his hacking claims. He has been sued by a local bus operator for hacking their systems to purchase a ticket for 3 cents. The makers of the messaging app Line have named Chang Chi-yuan in their hall of fame for its 2016 Line Security Bug Bounty Program and listed him as a “special contributor” on their website.

Even Facebook itself has listed Chang Chi-yuan’s name on its white hat thank you page, claiming “on behalf of over a billion users, we would like to thank the following people for making a responsible disclosure to us” before going on to name Chang on its 2016 “thank you” list.

Mashable has reached out to Facebook regarding Chang Chi-yuan’s exploit claims, and we’ll update this post when we hear back.

Senate panel backs Trump’s Supreme Court pick Kavanaugh

A full Senate vote is expected next week [Michael Reynolds/Reuters]
A full Senate vote is expected next week [Michael Reynolds/Reuters]

The Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday voted to send the nomination of President Donald Trump’s US Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh to the full Senate for consideration, with one hold-out Republican calling for an FBI probe into sexual assault allegations against the nominee before a final vote is held.

The panel moved the federal judge’s nomination to the full Senate on a party-line vote of 11-10, with all Republicans in support, and all Democrats opposed.

The vote came just a day after Republicans heard testimony from Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teens. Kavanaugh denied the accusation.

The concerns expressed by Republican Senator Jeff Flake could imperil the nomination if an FBI investigation is not launched.

Tiffany Young Stages A Mini Girls’ Generation Reunion To Take Down A Toxic Man In ‘Teach You’

Courtesy of Gramophone Media

You know what they say: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And in her latest music video, Tiffany Young, of Girls’ Generation fame, puts a playboy ex-lover on blast for playing games and breaking hearts — but not before getting her own sweet revenge first.

The cinematic visual for “Teach You” — featuring multiple sets, costume changes, a dreamy color palette, and a dramatic conclusion — is an ode to some of Young’s favorite Korean dramas. And it should come as no surprise that the K-Pop queen is serving glamour while warning future suitors with a sly smile, “If you mess with me you get hurt.”

The sultry video also serves as a mini Girls’ Generation reunion, with Young’s former bandmates Sooyoung and Hyoyeon appearing alongside her at the salon as she laments her unfaithful boyfriend (played by Saturday Night Live Korea‘s Kwon Hyuksoo).

Courtesy of Gramophone Media

Co-written by Young, “Teach You” is more than a revenge anthem with a catchy hook; it’s a personal song about dealing with toxic relationships, from the initial rage to the lingering disappointment. But more importantly, it’s a tale of a woman harnessing her power and persevering in the face of a toxic man.

“It’s all about noticing the wrong signs in a relationship and letting the ladies know it’s okay to stand up for yourself,” Young said of her new single in a press release. “Don’t be pushed around, don’t be fooled — you should know better as a woman to teach a man that he needs to treat you right.”

And, spoiler alert, sometimes that lesson really burns.
