Olivia Colman’s Oscar dress had pockets and she’s in charge of the revolution now

Pockets are pretty useful for human beings. You can use them to store stuff that you really need, to keep your hands warm, or even just to strike a really cool pose. The possibilities are, quite frankly, endless.

But, when it comes to women’s clothing, pockets are the one thing that are conspicuous by their absence. Speaking as a pocket-loving woman, trying to hunt down an outfit with pockets is basically the same as hunting for the Holy Grail.

Olivia Colman, Oscar-winner and clothes-wearer, likely knows this struggle all too well. She rocked up to the Academy Awards in a dress with pockets. 

We’re not sure whether Colman was making a deliberate statement, but we are here for it regardless. 

Colman wasn’t the only person sporting a pocket on the red carpet. 

Sarah Paulson also looked extremely cool wearing this pink-pocketed gorgeousness. 

Gemma Chan also led the pocket-wearing revolution.

Wearing pockets shouldn’t be a radical act, but until they put pockets in all our clothes, expect a lot of fanfare about pockets!
